A new semester has begun!
We’re thrilled to welcome you back to another year at Gwendolyn. We know the last sixteen months have been hard on everyone, and we truly commend you for the perseverance and grit you’ve shown in the face of adversity. You continue to make your university proud.
A few reminders and notes:
Security
As you settle in, you may notice an increased security presence on campus. There is nothing to be concerned about: this is a precautionary measure to prioritize your safety and not indicative of an event.
Counseling
Please remember that counseling services are always available, and always free. Visit student services if you need to talk to a professional. We’re in this together.
Ground Rules
An especially warm welcome to our incoming freshman! You’ll have a lot of information thrown at you in the coming weeks, but there are three key rules you must follow above all else:
Curfew
Campus curfew is midnight, no exceptions. Please be in your dorm by midnight. If you have left campus and the gates are already closed, call security for an escort, but you may not wander campus grounds after midnight.
Alcohol Policy
Gwendolyn is a dry campus. Alcohol cannot be purchased on campus or brought in from outside of campus. Any alcohol found on your person or in your room will be confiscated.
Media Contact
If you are contacted by national or local media, follow last year’s protocol and refrain from answering any of their questions. Forward all emails and voicemails to your dean’s office. Should anyone on campus question you about May Day or our security, and they are not a student nor do they have a Gwen U-issued PRESS badge, contact campus security.
Have a successful year, Gray Foxes!
